Calabash Boom-Dirt Road-July,2010

First pic is taken at the top of the steep concrete (which is a right turn off of Rte 107),
you can see a bit of concrete part under my feet :)
The rest of the pics follow up the mountain dirt road,
a pic for each stretch of road in vision-- or at each turn--unless otherwise noted.

These pics will blow your mind if you have been here before :)
We have a GREAT road now!

I left my car in this pic, so you could see the width of the flattened road!

those tracks are BIG TRUCK tracks I think  :)

this is where the first (dirt) side road goes down on right.
Stay on 'main' road :)

Ah, and here is the machine which is doing the work!
(hey, the guy is on break or something!)

and around the bend where the bulldozer was,
we look up to the first really sharp switchback, &
now the whole turn is FLAT!!!

As you make that sharp turn...

and on around the sharp turn,    (LOOK how flat!)
we are looking upwards toward the really steep section
up around the bend..

nowadays, I zoom up through here..   :)

then you really see the steep section coming into view..
the tele-pole in above pic is the same one immediately
at my left hand in lower pic, with a new pole up top of hill, by the driveway.

Just passed that driveway..

continue on up.. this section is
much better than it used to be!

and then, as you pass that switchback, keep going down..
